    Sammanfattning : With joint commitments by twenty-seven countries under the Paris Agreement, the European Union envisioned a resource-efficient and competitive economy without net emission of greenhouse gases by 2050. Immediate and massive efforts across sectors of energy, industry, and buildings will be required, and district heating (DH), through its ability to integrate efficiency measures on the supply and demand side, can play a central role. 2. 2. MIND : Optimization method for industrial energy systems

    Författare :Katarina Nilsson; Mats Söderström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; OPTIMIZATION; LIFE CYCLE COST; INDUSTRIAL; NONLINEAR; ENERGY;

    Sammanfattning : The MIND optimization method is a tool for life cycle cost minimization of a flexible range of industrial energy systems. It can be used in analyses of energy systems in response to changes within the system, changes of the boundary conditions and synthesis of energy systems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The Non-Energy Benefits of Industrial Energy Efficiency : Investments and Measures

    Författare :Therese Nehler; Patrik Thollander; Elin Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrial energy efficiency; energy efficiency measures; energy efficiency investments; non-energy benefits; compressed air;

    Sammanfattning : Improved industrial energy efficiency is viewed as an important means in the reduction of CO2 emissions and climate change mitigation. Various energy efficiency measures for improving energy efficiency exists, but even evaluated as cost-effective, there seems to be a difference between the energy efficiency measures that theoretically could be undertaken and which measures that actually are realised. 4. 4. Molecular Solar Thermal Energy Storage System: Evaluation of Different Candidates

    Författare :Zhihang Wang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy storage and release; Vinylheptafulvene; Catalyst; Quadricyclane; Solar Energy; Thermal dynamics; Molecular switches; Azobenzene; Norbornadiene; Energy conversion; Dihydroazulene;

    Sammanfattning : The development of solar energy can potentially meet the growing requirements for a global energy system beyond fossil fuels, however necessitates new scalable technologies for solar energy storage. One approach is the development of energy storage systems based on molecular photoswitches, so-called molecular solar thermal energy storage (MOST). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Energy analysis for sustainable mega-cities

    Författare :Aumnad Phdungsilp; Björn Palm; Ivo Martinac; Charles Heaps; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Asian mega-cities; energy demand; metabolism of cities; energy modeling; sustainable energy; energy planning; multi-criteria decision-making; Mechanical energy engineering; Mekanisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Cities throughout Asia have experienced unprecedented economic development over the past decades. In many cases this has contributed to their rapid and uncontrolled growth, which has resulted in a multiplicity of problems, including rapid population increase, enhanced environmental pollution, collapsing traffic systems, dysfunctional waste management, and rapid increases in the consumption of energy, water and other resources.
