  1. 1. SOUnd-DRIven BIOtechnology

    Författare :Nasim Najjarzadeh; Paul Christakopoulos; Cristhian Álvaro Carrasco Villanueva; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biokemisk processteknik; Biochemical Process Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrasound has been vastly applied in different areas such as medical imaging and the food industry, but not much attempt has been made to investigate its influence on microorganisms and its potential to be applied in microbial biotechnology. Previous studies show the potential of acoustic waves to increase biomass yield, production of secondary metabolites and enhanced enzyme-catalyzed reactions, probably due to improved mass transfer and cell retention. 2. 2. Industrial Digital Fabrication Using Inkjet Technology

    Författare :Ingo Reinhold; Carl-Mikael Zetterling; Matti Mäntysalo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inkjet printing; droplet formation; digital fabrication; sintering; nanoparticles; printed electronics; Industrial Information and Control Systems; Industriella informations- och styrsystem; Media Technology; Medieteknik; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The use of acoustic waves initiated by the deformation of a microchannel is one method for generating monodisperse, micrometer-sized droplets from small orifices and is employed in piezo-electric inkjet printheads. These printheads are used in both graphical printing and digital fabrication, where functionalities, such as optical, biological, electrical or mechanical, are being produced locally. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modelling and Validation of Industrial Measurement Systems - Aspects of Quality and Human Factors

    Författare :Jenny Wirandi; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Uncertainty Analysis; Quality Index; Instrumentation technology; Mät- och instrumenteringsteknik; Traceability; Fuzzy Variable; Pulp Quality; Industrial Measurement; Human Factor; GUM; Calibration; Fibre Measurement; Measurement Science;

    Sammanfattning : Although there is a fairly large number of books and articles concerning the validation of technical measurement systems, there are only a few which take into account the whole measurement system consisting of both technical and non-technical aspects. A measurement system comprises both the measurement process and the human being who conducts the measurement. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Advancement of sensor technology for monitoring and control of upstream bioprocesses

    Författare :Judit Randek; Carl-Fredrik Mandenius; Gerald Striedner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : In bioprocesses, the upstream process part with cultivation and harvesting steps has decisive influence on the final process outcome, including the quality of the product, the productivity and the yield. To ensure stable product quality of biopharmaceuticals, the U.S. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Ultrasonic measurement principles : modeling, identification, and parameter estimation

    Författare :Jesper Martinsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Industrial Electronics; Industriell elektronik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions within the fields of ultrasonic modeling and measurement technology, with focus on solutions to difficult modeling and measurement problems. The work is divided into two categories: 1) processing of measurements obtained under non-ideal conditions, such as unsynchronized, distorted, and superimposed signals; 2) estimating acoustic models and parameters from materials, fluids, fluid mixtures, and thin-layered structures.
