  1. 1. Weighted Analysis of Microarray Experiments

    Författare :Anders Sjögren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; DNA microarray; differential expression; gene expression; quality control QC ; quality assurance QA ; quality assessment; generalised linear model; empirical Bayes; weighted moderated statistic; invalid p-value; heteroscedasticity; WAME; heteroscedasticity;

    Sammanfattning : DNA microarrays are strikingly efficient tools for analysing gene expression for large sets of genes simultaneously. The aim is often to identify genes which are differentially expressed between some studied conditions, thereby gaining insight into which cellular mechanisms are differently active between the conditions. 2. 2. Trygghet som handelsvara : Privat folkförsäkring i det framväxande välfärdssamhället 1900–1950

    Författare :Alf Sjöblom; Orsi Husz; Nils Edling; Niklas Stenlås; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Industrial Life Insurance; Industrial Assurance; Insurance; Welfare; Welfare State; Social Policy; Marketing; Governmentality; Social Engineering; Actuarial; Sweden; 20th Century; Trust; Agency System; History; historia;

    Sammanfattning : Industrial Life Insurance (ILI) was introduced in Sweden in the beginning of the 1900s. Following models already used in the United Kingdom and the United States, this insurance was specifically aimed at manual labourers, promising pension savings and compensation to surviving relatives. 3. 3. Process Analytical Tools for the Monitoring and Characterization of Bacterial Toxins

    Författare :Martin Hedström; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; protein degradation; mass spectrometry; Bacterial toxins; Biosensor;

    Sammanfattning : In the era of proteomics, glycomics and ultimately metabolomics, with constantly increasing knowledge regarding the human biosystem, the number of specialized therapeutic agents which will be developed against different diseases is predicted to be on the upswing. An increasing portion of these new drugs will, according to recent predictions (Labrou, 2003), be of proteinaceous origin produced according to biotechnological standards. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Change and inertia in the development of Swedish engineering education : The industrial stakeholder perspective

    Författare :Per Fagrell; Lars Geschwind; Anders Broström; Jennifer Case; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Teknikvetenskapens lärande och kommunikation; Education and Communication in the Technological Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates higher education development in Sweden from an external stakeholder perspective, with a particular focus on engineering education. Industry has long been a major external stakeholder in the development of profession-oriented higher education, not least in the context of engineering education. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Quality Assurance of Time Critical Data Using Adaptive Data Delivery Mechanisms in Smart Grids

    Författare :Yiming Wu; Lars Nordström; Chen-Ching Liu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; time critical data quality; adaptive mechanisms; quality assurance; Smart Grid; information resiliency; data accuracy; end-to-end latency; cyber-security; substation automation; power system communication; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Industrial Information and Control Systems; Industriella informations- och styrsystem;

    Sammanfattning : Smart grids are proposed to integrate renewable energy and to improve the efficiency of power system operation. The challenges of integrating renewable energy are the inherent fluctuations of generation which are difficult to predict which may lead to challenges to the safe operation of power systems. LÄS MER
