1. Indoor Environment and User Perception. A Field Study in a Hospital Ward
Sammanfattning : The research on indoor environment has become more important and extensive the last decades. There is, however, a lack of studies made in buildings with two or more distinct groups of people. This study deals with hospital wards, which are a prime example of buildings occupied by more than one homogenous group of people. LÄS MER
2. Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage for Indoor Comfort Control
Sammanfattning : Equating Earth’s existence to 24 hours, we, the Homo sapiens, came about in the last four seconds. Fossil fuel came to our knowledge with mass extraction dating from the Industrial Revolution two centuries ago, in other words 4 milliseconds out of Earth’s 24-hour equivalent lifetime. LÄS MER
3. Extensive green roofs in Porto Alegre, Brazil : Effect on indoor thermal comfort in residential buildings
Sammanfattning : Brazil had a significant quantitative housing deficit of 7.7 million residences in 2015, especially in low-income housing. Traditionally, these projects have low levels of thermal insulation which can result in discomfort caused by warmth or cold. The residential sector is responsible for a significant part of the energy use in Brazil. LÄS MER
4. How Does it Feel and How is it measured? Assessing Sitting Comfort and Postures of Rear-Seated Car Passengers in Stationary and Driven Scenarios Over Time
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis presents the results of an empirical study focused on examining the comparative effectiveness of short stationary studies versus long driving studies in evaluating sitting postures, belt fit, and sitting comfort in cars. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, in which 19 participants experienced two different test scenarios in the rear seat of a car: a stationary scenario within an indoor garage and a driven scenario on a predefined route in regular traffic, each lasting 45 minutes. 5. On the Feasibility of Reinforcement Learning in Single- and Multi-Agent Systems : The Cases of Indoor Climate and Prosumer Electricity Trading Communities
Sammanfattning : Over half of the world’s population live in urban areas, a trend which is expected to only grow as we move further into the future. With this increasing trend in urbanisation, challenges are presented in the form of the management of urban infrastructure systems. LÄS MER
