  1. 1. Radioimmunoimaging and Radioimmunotherapy of Prostate Cancer Preclinical evaluation of kallikrein related peptidase 2 targeting

    Författare :Oskar Vilhelmsson Timmermand; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radioimmunoimaging; radioimmunotherapy; antibody; 11B6; indium-111; lutetium-177; kallikrein related peptidase 2; hK2; PSA; prostate cancer; SPECT; KLK2; cherenkov luminescence imaging; CLI;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one of the major causes of cancer related deaths in men in Europe and the United States. In this doctoral thesis, radioimmunoimaging and -therapy of prostate cancer was investigated pre-clinically by targeting the human kallikrein-related peptidase 2 (hK2) with radiolabelled monoclonal antibodies. 2. 2. The impact of airway-irritating exposure and wet work on subjects with allergy or other sensitivity : epidemiology and mechanisms

    Författare :Pernilla Wiebert; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Air pollution; allergic rhinitis; allergy; asthma; blood; carbonaceous; circulation; clearance; cohort; dermatitis; epidemiology; exposure assessment; Indium-111; inhalation; job-exposure matrix; lung; occupation; retention; Technegas generator; Technetium-99m; translocation; ultrafine particles;

    Sammanfattning : The prevalence of asthma and allergies is increasing, which means that the proportion of workers on the labour market with allergy or other sensitivity also increases. It is as of yet not known to what extent these persons with an elevated sensitivity in the airways or the skin are affected by exposure to irritating substances at work. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Potential mechanisms for acute health effects and lung retention of inhaled particles of different origin

    Författare :Anna Klepczynska Nyström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Environmental particle exposure is known to have negative health effects. There is limited knowledge about how size and origin of particles influence these effects. There is also little known regarding the fate of ultrafine particles (particles in nanosize;< 100 nanometers in diameter) after being inhaled. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Brain distribution of a bispecific antibody targeting Aβ

    Författare :Gustavsson Tobias; Dag Sehlin; Stina Syvänen; Paul O'Callaghan; Danica Stanimirovic; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alzheimer s disease; amyloid-beta; blood-brain barrier; single-photon emission computed tomography SPECT ; bispecific antibody; immunotherapy; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine; Neuroscience; Neurovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterised by aberrant protein aggregation in the brain with subsequent synaptic loss, neuroinflammation, and brain atrophy that ultimately clinically manifests as cognitive impairment. Histopathological findings in AD are extracellular plaques of the protein amyloid-beta (Aβ), Aβ in blood vessels (CAA), and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) of hyperphosphorylated tau. 5. 5. Multimodal sentinel lymph node imaging using nanoscale-tailored particles; The importance of particle size

    Författare :Pontus Kjellman; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; multimodal contrast agent; USPIO; sentinel lymph node; in vivo; EL-4 tumor;

    Sammanfattning : As a cancer grows it will, at a certain stage of disease progression, start spreading in the body. For several types of cancer this spreading will first occur through the lymphatic system and the first place where metastatic cell will be encountered is the first lymph node that drains the area where the tumor is located.
