1. Performance of Compact Heat Exchanger in Non-Perpendicular Cooling Airflows
Sammanfattning : During recent years the main focus in the vehicle industry has been on cutting the fuel consumption and emissions as well as improving the vehicle performance. To be able to meet these demands additional systems are being introduced into the vehicle. LÄS MER
2. Developments in Ground Heat Storage Modeling
Sammanfattning : Ground heat storage systems can play an important role for the reduction of green house gases emissions by increasing the exploitation of renewable energy sources and “waste heat” with a consequent diminution of the use of fossil fuels.A ground heat storage consists in an array of vertical boreholes placed in such a way that promotes the mutual thermal interaction between the ground heat exchangers creating the necessary conditions required to effectively store and retrieve heat. 3. Analysis of underground concrete pipelines subjected to seismic high-frequency loads
Sammanfattning : Buried pipelines are tubular structures that are used for transportation of important liquid materials and gas in order to provide safety for human life. During an earthquake, imposed loads from soil deformations on concrete pipelines may cause severe damages, possibly causing disturbance in vital systems, such as cooling of nuclear power facilities. 4. Force and Flow Characteristics of a Partially Submerged Propeller
Sammanfattning : Model experiments have been conducted to determine the average and dynamic performance of a high-speed partially submerged propeller. The purpose of the experiments was to examine the influence of shaft yaw and inclination angles on the propeller characteristics at different Froude and cavitation numbers and to study the flow around the propeller blades in different conditions. 5. Influence of Ageing on Material Properties at Interfaces in Composite Insulators
Sammanfattning : High quality of internal interfaces in composite insulators for high voltage applications is necessary for securing durability of their functionality. Weak macroscopic interfaces between the glass fibre reinforced (FRP) epoxy core and the silicone rubber (SIR) housing, such as spots with reduced bonding or a loss of the adhesion as well as presence of foreign contaminants, can appear to have an accelerating effect on the evolution of ageing processes, though it may take years before the first signs of processes endangering the insulator function appear.
