  1. 1. Optical Studies of InAs Quantum Dots in III-V Semiconductors

    Författare :Lars Landin; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantum dots; III-V semiconductors; k.p calculations; photoluminescence; deep-level transient spectroscopy; photoconductivity; few particle effect; single dot spectroscopy; InAs InP; Semiconductory physics; Halvledarfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:2000:Landin; InAs GaAs;

    Sammanfattning : I this thesis, optical studies of InAs quantum dots (QDs) in GaAs and InP are presented. The electronic structure of these zero dimensional structures, grown in the Stranski-Krastanow growth mode, was studied by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), junction space-charge techniques (JSCT) and photoconductivity (PC) measurements. 2. 2. Theory of electronic structure and transport in heterostructure nanowires

    Författare :Florinda Viñas Boström; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electronic structure; electron transport; nano; quantum; InAs; GaSb; topological; nanowires; quantum dots; Fysicumarkivet A:2020:Vinas Boström;

    Sammanfattning : Today, semi-conductor nanowires can be grown with very high precision, using epitaxy. This allows for studies of new nanowire-based quantum devices, likely to be part of novel quantum technologies in the future. This thesis concerns nanostructures based on InAs nanowires. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Spectroscopic studies of III-V semiconductors in two, one and zero dimensions

  4. 4. Electron Transport in Nanowire Quantum Devices

    Författare :Henrik Nilsson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Superconductivity; Spin-orbit coupling; the Kondo effect; the Zeeman effect; Quantum dots; Nanowire memories; Nanowire transistors; InSb; InAs; Nanowires; Electron transport; Andreev reflections; Nanowire RF-SET; Noise in nanowires;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on electron transport in semiconductor InAs/InP and InSb nanowire quantum devices. However, first the temperature dependence of classical charge transport in InSb nanowire field-effect transistors, FETs, is characterized, using InAs nanowire FETs as a reference. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis builds on new cross-disciplinary research between engineering and educational sciences. Recently, two other theses that combine research in physics and education (Åke Ingerman, 2002, and Tom Adawi, 2002) have been completed in Sweden. This thesis consolidates a trend that can benefit both disciplines. LÄS MER
