  1. 1. Membrane-Assisted Isoform ImmunoAssay : Separation and determination of protein isoforms

    Författare :Maria Lönnberg; Carl G M Magnusson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; Bioengineering; Bioteknik; Surface Biotechnology; ytbioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Proteins exist in a variety of isoforms with minor differences, mostly due to their glycosylation patterns, which can modulate their biological functions. It seems to be of clinical relevance to measure the isoform-distribution.Thesis describes a novel technology named Membrane-Assisted Isoform ImmunoAssay (MAIIA). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Avian antibodies applied in particle enhanced turbidimetric immunoassay : Developement of serum/plasma calprotectin immunoassay and its clinical performance as a marker for bacterial infections

    Författare :Tom Nilsen; Anders Larsson; Bjørn Steen Skålhegg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sepsis; avian antibodies; calprotectin antigen; particle enhanced turbidimetric immunoassay.; Clinical Chemistry; Klinisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Calprotectin is a cytosolic protein in the granulocytes, consisting of S100A8 and S100A9. On the site of inflammation, the neutrophils release the cytosol as an inflammatory response. The circulating calprotectin concentration increases and can therefore be used as marker for neutrophil activation and inflammation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Design and development of electrochemical sensors with application in bioanalysis

    Författare :Kinga Zor; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bioanalysis; electrochemistry; sensor; biosensor; miniaturization; real sample; immunoassay; μTAS;

    Sammanfattning : There is a continuous search for reliable, robust, easy to use, portable and cost effective analytical tools with applications in food industry, biomedicine, environmental monitoring and homeland security. The main focus of this thesis is the development of electrochemical (bio)sensors and bioanalysis systems (to be applied in two major fields of interest: food & beverage industry and biomedical research) for monitoring key analytes in complex matrices, such as: meat samples, fermentation broths, and cell culture media.
