  1. 1. Image Analysis in Support of Computer-Assisted Cervical Cancer Screening

    Författare :Patrik Malm; Ewert Bengtsson; Calum MacAulay; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Image analysis; cervical cancer; pap-smear; synthetic images; screening; image processing; cytometry; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer is a disease that annually claims the lives of over a quarter of a million women. A substantial number of these deaths could be prevented if population wide cancer screening, based on the Papanicolaou test, were globally available. The Papanicolaou test involves a visual review of cellular material obtained from the uterine cervix. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Computer Assisted Coronary CT Angiography Analysis : Disease-centered Software Development

    Författare :Chunliang Wang; Örjan Smedby; Anders Persson; Hans Frimmel; Markus Müller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coronary CTA; vessel segmenation; centerline tracking; visualization; Radiology; Radiologi; Image analysis; Bildanalys; Cardiology; Kardiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The substantial advances of coronary CTA have resulted in a boost of use of this new technique in the last several years, which brings a big challenge to radiologists by the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Methods for Processing and Analysis of Biomedical TEM Images

    Författare :Amit Suveer; Ida-Maria Sintorn; Carolina Wählby; Natasa Sladoje; Jari Hyttinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; image analysis; image processing; deep learning; transmission electron microscopy; denoising; super-resolution reconstruction; registration; detection; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) has the high resolving capability and high clinical significance; however, the current manual diagnostic procedure using TEM is complicated and time-consuming, requiring rarely available expertise for analyzing TEM images of the biological specimen. This thesis addresses the bottlenecks of TEM-based analysis by proposing image analysis methods to automate and improve critical time-consuming steps of currently manual diagnostic procedures. LÄS MER
