16. Inverse Problems for Tumour Growth Models and Neural ODEs
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the application of methods and techniques from the theory of inverse problems and differential equations to study models arising in the areas of mathematical oncology and deep learning. The first problem studied is to develop methods to perform numerical simulations with full 3-dimensional brain imaging data of reaction-diffusion models for tumour growth forwards as well as backwards in time with the goal of enabling the numerical reconstruction of the source of the tumour given an image (or similar data) at a later stage in time of the tumour. 17. Reconstruction of solutions of Cauchy problems for elliptic equations in bounded and unbounded domains using iterative regularization methods
Sammanfattning : Cauchy problems for elliptic equations arise in applications in science and engineering. These problems often involve finding important information about an elliptical system from indirect or incomplete measurements. LÄS MER
18. Analysis of the Robin-Dirichlet iterative procedure for solving the Cauchy problem for elliptic equations with extension to unbounded domains
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study the Cauchy problem for elliptic equations. It arises in many areas of application in science and engineering as a problem of reconstruction of solutions to elliptic equations in a domain from boundary measurements taken on a part of the boundary of this domain. 19. Optimal Control of Partial Differential Equations in Optimal Design
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the approximation of optimally controlled partial differential equations for inverse problems in optimal design. Important examples of such problems are optimal material design and parameter reconstruction. In optimal material design the goal is to construct a material that meets some optimality criterion, e.g. LÄS MER
20. Time Domain Methods for Load Identification of Linear and Nonlinear Systems
Sammanfattning : The automotive industry faces an increasing demand for virtual prototyping to simulate the operation conditions of vehicles and subsystems. Each component, as well as the complete vehicle, must meet the desired design requirements in a time- and cost-efficient development process. LÄS MER
