    Sammanfattning : Hepatitis C virus (HCV) impacts on global health with around 70 million chronically infected worldwide. The infection increases the risk of cirrhosis and primary liver cancer. The treatment until 2013 has been based on interferon-α and ribavirin, but is now replaced by direct acting antivirals. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a malignant neoplastic tissue. The pyrimidine analogue 5-fluorouracil is an anticancer drug used against several types of cancer. It owes its specificity against neoplasms due to the higher rate of nutrient uptake, RNA and DNA synthesis, and in particular the higher rate of nucleobase scavenging and salvage of neoplastic cells.
