11. Cytochrome P450 Enzymes in the Metabolism of Cholesterol and Cholesterol Derivatives
Sammanfattning : Cholesterol is metabolized to a variety of important biological products in the body including bile acids and vitamin D. The present investigation is focused on enzymes that catalyze 7α-hydroxylation or 27-hydroxylation in the metabolism of cholesterol, oxysterols (side chain-hydroxylated derivatives of cholesterol) and vitamin D3. 12. The in-vitro and in-vivo metabolism of the oral anticoagulant phenprocoumon as influenced by genetic polymorphisms of cytochrome P4502C9
Sammanfattning : Oral anticoagulants are widely used for the prevention of thromboembolic disorders. Warfarin (WA) is most commonly used world-wide, while phenprocoumon (PPC) is the first-line anticoagulant in some European countries including Germany. Each anticoagulant exists in two different enantiomeric forms and is administered orally as a racemate. LÄS MER
13. Theoretical Studies of Cytochrome P450
Sammanfattning : The cytochromes P450 are a large enzyme family that is found in all living organisms and takes part in both endogenous and exogenous metabolism. They are primarily mono-oxygenases and perform a wide range of reactions. LÄS MER
14. 2-acetylaminofluorene : metabolism and effects on drug-metabolizing enzymes
Sammanfattning : 2-Acetylaminofluorene has been found to have two different kinds of effects on drug-metabolizing enzymes in rat liver :1. Short-term treatment with this compound induces the level of microsomal epoxide hydrolase and cytochromes P-450b+e, c, d and PB/PCN-E, with a concominant increase in the metabolism of 2-acetylaminoflurene itself. 15. Regulation of Vitamin D 25-hydroxylases : Effects of Vitamin D Metabolites and Pharmaceutical Compounds on the Bioactivation of Vitamin D
Sammanfattning : A 700bp portion of the promoter of CYP2D25, the porcine microsomal vitamin D 25-hydroxylase was isolated and sequenced. The computer analysis of the sequence revealed the existence of a putative VDRE at 220 bp upstream of the transcription start site. LÄS MER
