21. Fatigue of Asphalt Mixes - Theory of Viscoelasticity and Continuum Damage Mechanics Applied to Uniaxial Fatigue Data from Laboratory Tests
Sammanfattning : The advance of analytic (mechanistic) design methods increases the need for fundamental material properties. Fatigue cracking due to traffic loading, in combination with permanent deformation (rutting), thermal cracking, irregularities, frost heave and reflective cracking are some of the major criteria used when designing an asphalt concrete pavement. 22. Rut Depth Prediction on Flexible Pavements - Calibration and Validation of Incremental-Recursive Models
Sammanfattning : In later years the development of pavement design has gone towards more and more analytically based methods. Future design will probably be based on incremental deterioration models. The objective is to evaluate different types of rut depth prediction models for an incremental design process. LÄS MER
23. Urban wastewater systems: From disposal to reuse. A study of different systems with focus on water and nutrients flows
Sammanfattning : Urban wastewater systems are currently exposed to a major rethink dictated by new demands on resource management. It is postulated that next to providing efficient sanitation (preventing spread of pathogenic microorganisms) these systems should support resource reuse. LÄS MER
24. Theoretical Investigation into Longitudinal Dispersion in Natural Rivers — A Scaling Dispersion Model
Sammanfattning : Using a broad variety of scientific methods this dissertation systematically investigates the fundamental mechanisms underlying the dispersion processes in natural rivers and their mathematical descriptions in a geometrical framework. Emphasis is on the geometrical variations and irregularities of a natural river and their scales. LÄS MER
25. Modeling of planing craft in waves
Sammanfattning : Simulation of the planing hull in waves has been addressed during the last 25 years and basically been approached by strip methods. This work follows that tradition and describes a time-domain strip model for simulation of the planing hull in waves. The actual fluid mechanical problem is simplified through the strip approach.
