  1. 1. Cellular immune responses against human parvovirus B19 infection

    Författare :Adiba Isa; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Human Parvovirus B19; acute infection; persistent infection; CD8 T-cell; peptide-MHC tetrameric complexes; interferon gamma; cytokines;

    Sammanfattning : The role of cellular immune responses in the control of Parvovirus B19 (B19) infection has not previously been investigated. B19 does not normally cause severe clinical problems but complications may arise in immunosuppressed patients and pregnant women. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Clinical and immunological aspects of human parvovirus B19 infection

    Författare :Oscar Norbeck; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Human Parvovirus B19; intrauterine fetal death; hematopoiesis; bone marrow suppression; gamma-interferon; immune response; cytotoxic T cell; acute infection; persistent infection;

    Sammanfattning : Human parvovirus B19 (B19) causes erythema infectiosum, a limited disease of childhood also known as the fifth disease or slapped cheek syndrome, referring to the characteristic facial rash. It normally infects through the respiratory route, even though transmission via blood products and transplanted organs occur. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Human parvovirus B19 : studies on the pathogenesis of infection

    Författare :Thomas Tolfvenstam; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Human parvovirus B19 (B19) causes the common childhood disease erythema infectiosum. The virus is transmitted by the respiratory route, infects erythroid progenitor cells, and thereby inhibits erythropoiesis. The seroprevalence in the adult population is 50-70%, rising to over 80% among the elderly. LÄS MER

  4. 4. On the etiology and pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus with special reference to environmental factors

    Författare :Anders Bengtsson; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; Skeleton; Risk factors; Human parvovirus B19; Immune complex; Disease activity; Interferon-alpha; SLE; Retrovirus;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease in which environmental factors interact with genetic factors in the development of the disease process and evolution of clinical manifestations. In this thesis both exogenous factors and host factors were investigated, as well as important immunopathological aspects including involvement of immune complex (IC), the complement system and interferon-alpha (IFN-α). 5. 5. Clinical and laboratory findings in patients with persistent parvovirus 19 infection

    Författare :Anders Lundqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Human parvovirus B19; persistent infection; PCR; immune defence.;

    Sammanfattning : Parvovirus B19 (B19) is the etiological agent of the common childhood disease, erythema infectiosum (EI), also named fifth disease. About 50% of humans are infected during childhood, but the virus is also transmitted to adults and about 80 % of the elderly are seropositive. LÄS MER
