16. Homelessness and health : analysis of mortality and morbidity from a gender perspective
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, results from epidemiological cohort studies of morbidity and mortality among homeless men and women are presented. It is based upon a study of discourses within three different forms of social housing in Sweden; the poorhouse of the 19th century, the public housing sector of the 1980s and 1990s, and the housing currently supplied by the local social authorities. Sammanfattning : The overarching aim of this dissertation is to explore and describe Swedish local authorities’ measures to prevent and manage homelessness; how these measures diverge between different municipal categories; what factors predict homelessness, provisions of accommodation and cov-erage rates between the number of accommodations and the respective municipalities’ housing interventions. 19. HIV and hepatitis C prevention among people who inject drugs in Sweden : harm reduction policies, risk behaviour interventions and outcomes
Sammanfattning : People who inject drugs (PWID) is a heterogeneous and hard-to-reach group due to legal implications, stigma and discrimination. PWID are vulnerable to various poor health outcomes including HIV and hepatitis due to ongoing injection and sexual risk behaviours, various forms of abuse, poor health seeking behaviours, and limited access to- and retention in prevention and care programs. 20. Hepatitis C in people who inject drugs in the Stockholm needle exchange program : incidence, spontaneous clearance and change in risk behaviour
Sammanfattning : The major transmission route for hepatitis C virus (HCV) is sharing of unsterile injection equipment (needle/syringes and paraphernalia). Needle exchange programs (NEP) reduce injection risk behaviour and HCV spread among people who inject drugs (PWID). WHO has set a goal to eliminate HCV by the year 2030. LÄS MER
