16. The (re)construction of home : Unaccompanied children’s and youth’s transition out of care
Sammanfattning : This dissertation focuses on how perceptions of ethnicity and culture become meaningful in relation to the transition from care into independent living, studied from unaccompanied youths’, professionals’, and a methodological perspective. The findings from interviews with unaccompanied youth with experience of leaving care showed that thoughts about their ethnic minority background are constantly present in the young men’s lives. Sammanfattning : The focus in this thesis is young peoples’ (aged 17–20) experiences of leaving out-of-home care (OHC) and making the transition into adulthood. Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate what factors and conditions contribute to explain the incidences of reported occupational disorders (occupational injuries and work-related diseases and symptoms) and work ability (long-term work ability, long-term sick leave and disability pension) among home care workers (HCWs).Factors at three levels were investigated in this thesis: the macro-organisational level, the workplace level and the individual level.
