The aim of this thesis is to study the nation building process in Sweden. How was a national identity constructed? One answer to this question is that statistical representations of the nation played a major role to shape a visual image of Sweden. It is commonly known that the term could represent a local or cultural community as well as a national and political one. In 1902, a Swedish professor at Shanxi University started to study the region’s geology and in 1913, he suggested to the Chinese Republican Government an expansion of these surveys nationwide. As a result, the Head of the Geological Survey of Sweden, J. G. Andersson, was employed as a geological adviser to the Chinese Government. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning :
The era of the digital revolution has made it possible to acknowledge literature as a technological object, inseparable from its medium. This study attempts to outline the prerequisites of a material history of literature that does not focus primarily upon works or authors but rather on the media itself, the mnemotechnics and the practices of reading and writing that make such phenomena possible in the first place.
