1. Translational studies of metastatic melanoma in the era of immunotherapy - from humanized mouse models to clinical trials
Sammanfattning : Immunotherapy with PD-1 inhibitors has transformed the treatment of met-astatic cutaneous mela- noma, and can lead to complete and durable responses in a proportion of patients. However, in around half of the patients, the treatment has little or no effect. LÄS MER
2. The Interaction of the Adenovirus E1B-55K Protein with a Histone Deacetylase Complex: Its Importance in Regulation of P53 Protein Functions
Sammanfattning : The human tumour suppressor protein p53 is an effective inhibitor of cell growth, by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. However, p53-induced cell growth inhibition can be detrimental for virus multiplication. Therefore, viruses encode for proteins, which can interfere with the functions of the p53 protein. LÄS MER
3. Activity and mechanism of action of histone deacetylase inhibitors in synovial sarcoma
Sammanfattning : Synovial sarcoma is a rare but aggressive paediatric soft tissue sarcoma that is driven by the genomic rearrangement t(X;18)(p11.2;q11.2). The resulting fusion protein, SS18- SSX, exhibits oncogenic properties through protein-protein interactions that alter gene transcriptions and chromatin remodelling. LÄS MER
4. Characterization of proteins involved in differentiation and apoptosis of human leukemia and epithelial cancer cells
Sammanfattning : Today, cancer is understood as an epigenetic as well as a genetic disease. The main epigenetic hallmarks of the cancer cell are DNA methylation and histone modifications. The latter changes may be an optimal target for novel anticancer agents. LÄS MER
5. Pharmacological stimulation of endothelial function and long-term impact of hypertension in man
Sammanfattning : Background: Ischemic heart disease is a major cause of death globally. Rupture of a coronary atherosclerotic plaque with occluding thrombus formation is the main cause of myocardial ischemia and infarction. LÄS MER
