  1. 1. Neuromolecular and behavioural profile of teleosts : - effects of boldness, agonistic behaviour and reproductive status

    Författare :Arshi Mustafa; Svante Winberg; Per Erik Olsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Histamine receptor 1 hrh1 ; histamine receptor 2 hrh2 ; histamine receptor 3 hrh3 ; boldness; personality; aggression; Histaminergic activity; Serotonergic activty 5-HIAA 5-HT ; Dopaminergic activty DOPAC DA ; spiegeldanio spd ; wild caught zebrafish; AB zebrafish; behaviour; brain.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates if boldness is reflected in the function of brain histaminergic system in zebrafish (Danio rerio). Moreover, behavioural differences in AB line, spiegeldanio (spd) line and wild caught strain of zebrafish have also been explored apart from the winner-loser effect in AB and spd fish. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Intraocular and intracranial transplantation of neural tissue : Studies on hypothalamic and hippocampal neuros

    Författare :Hanna Bergman; Pertti Panula; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Previous studies has demonstrated the possibility to transplant monoaminergic neurons intracranially and to the anterior chamber of the eye, where these neurons continue to develop into functional, transmitter expressing cells. In the present study, investigations were undertaken to examine the development of transplanted hypothalamic and hippocampal neurons in the rat. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Protein Interaction Studies with Low Molecular Weight Ligands : Applications for Drug Discovery, Basic Research and Diagnostic Tool Design

    Författare :Tony Christopeit; U.Helena Danielson; Danièle Altschuh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the interactions between different proteins and small ligands were characterized by surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR) and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) based assays.   For the C-reactive protein (CRP), a new type of artificial binder was identified which allows designing diagnostic assays superior to commonly used standard assays.
