1. Renormalization in Effective Field Theory and Hidden Radiation
Sammanfattning : This thesis dealswith the field of high-energy particle physics. It ismainly concernedwith two issues: the “renormalization of effective field theories” and the “detection of hidden sectors”. The first two papers are dedicated to the renormalization issue while the second two deal with the hidden sectors. LÄS MER
2. Searches for new physics phenomena with jet final states in the ATLAS detector
Sammanfattning : Collimated sprays of paticle, known as jets, are abundantly produced in high-energy proton-proton (pp) collisions, and are predicted by many theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. This thesis reports first on the calibration of jets with focus on the data-driven in situ calibration. LÄS MER
3. Property management and maintenance in the multifamily housing sector in Sweden
Sammanfattning : Several studies and government reports have indicated that a large number of apartments in Sweden built during the 1960s and 1970s require extensive refurbishment and that there is concern that some companies in the rental housing sector and in the tenant-owner cooperative (TOC) sector may have difficulties carrying out the needed activities. The overall purpose of the thesis is to increase the understanding of the factors that influence the decisions made within the multi faceted property management of multifamily housing in Sweden which would mitigate some of the shortcomings. 4. Encounters with power : health care seeking and medical encounters in tuberculosis care : experiences from Ujjain District, India
Sammanfattning : Background: Tuberculosis (TB) has been declared a government priority in India and public TB care is delivered by the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP). Despite having achieved a significant increase in reported cure rates and coverage, the RNTCP is associated with access barriers and there is no indication that the incidence of TB is declining.
