  1. 1. Time Domain Boundary Element Methods for Acoustic Scattering

    Författare :Georgios Natsiopoulos; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; time domain; curved surface; room acoustics; boss model; boundary element method; regularization; transient; Hermite interpolation; hypersingular; acoustic scattering; vector potential;

    Sammanfattning : In room acoustics, numerical computation of scattering phenomena is an important subject, since it is needed to accurately predict the influence of reflectors, the audience, balconies, etc, on the perceived acoustic quality of auditoria. The large physical volumes of auditoria and the wide frequency content of music and speech, together with the complicated geometries involved however, makes predictions in room acoustics a challenging task from a computational point of view. 2. 2. Gaussian structures and orthogonal polynomials

    Författare :Lars Larsson-Cohn; Kurt Johansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; Meyer inequality; orthogonal polynomials; Lp-norms; information entropy; finite difference equations; central limit theorem; interpolation theory; Besov spaces; MATEMATIK; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers on the following topics in analysis and probability: analysis on Wiener space, asymptotic properties of orthogonal polynomials, and convergence rates in the central limit theorem. The first paper gives lower bounds on the constants in the Meyer inequality from the Malliavin calculus. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Numerical analysis for random processes and fields and related design problems

    Författare :Konrad Abramowicz; Oleg Seleznjev; Krzysztof Podgórski; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stochastic processes; random fields; approximation; numerical integration; Hermite splines; piecewise linear interpolator; local stationarity; point singularity; stratified Monte Carlo quadrature; Asian option; Monte Carlo pricing method; Lévy market models; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics; matematisk statistik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we study numerical analysis for random processes and fields. We investigate the behavior of the approximation accuracy for specific linear methods based on a finite number of observations. Furthermore, we propose techniques for optimizing performance of the methods for particular classes of random functions. LÄS MER
