    Sammanfattning : Throughout the last century, medical imaging has come to revolutionise the way we diagnose disease, and is today an indispensable part of virtually any clinical practice. In cardiovascular care imaging is extensively utilised, and the development of novel techniques promises refined diagnostic abilities: ultrasound elastography allows for constitutive tissue assessment, 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) enables full-field flow mapping, and micro-Computed Tomography (CT) permits high-resolution imaging at pre-clinical level. 2. 2. Hemodynamic assessment in patients with congenital heart disease using magnetic resonance imaging

    Författare :Pia Sjöberg; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Around 1000 children are born with a heart disease in Sweden every year and today most of these children survive and reach adult age. There are around 2.3 million grownups with congenital heart disease in Europe today, a number that is expected to continue to increase. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Turbulence Descriptors in Arterial Flows : Patient-Specific Computational Hemodynamics

    Författare :Magnus Andersson; Matts Karlsson; Jonas Lantz; Tino Ebbers; Kristian Valen-Sendstad; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : At this very moment, there are literally millions of people who suffer from various types of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), many of whom will experience reduced quality of life or premature lift expectancy. The detailed underlying pathogenic processes behind many of these disorders are not well understood, but were abnormal dynamics of the blood flow (hemodynamics) are believed to play an important role, especially atypical flow-mediated frictional forces on the intraluminal wall (i. 4. 4. Echocardiographic assessment of atrioventricular plane displacement, Clinical application in patients with coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation and aortic stenosis

    Författare :Erik Rydberg; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; prognosis; aortic stenosis; atrial fibrillation; AVPD; coronary artery disease;

    Sammanfattning : Left atrioventricular plane displacement (AVPD) has been shown to correlate well with left ventricular (LV) systolic function measured as ejection fraction (EF). AVPD has also been shown to be related to diastolic performance. LÄS MER
