  1. 21. Molecular regulation of hematopoietic stem cells

    Författare :David Bryder; Avdelningen för molekylär hematologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; extracellular fluids; Haematology; bone marrow transplantation; cytokines; Hematopoiesis; stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are ultimately responsible for the all mature blood cell production. They can primarily be found in the bone marrow (BM) at a low frequency (~0.02%). LÄS MER

  2. 22. Cyclin A1 Expression and Regulation in Hematopoietic and Leukemic Cells

    Författare :Jenny Ekberg; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer; General pathology; pathological anatomy; Patologi allmän ; patologisk anatomi; onkologi; Cytologi; cancerology; oncology; Cytology; AML; cyclin A1; apoptosis; cell cycle regulation;

    Sammanfattning : Increased expression of the cell cycle regulatory protein cyclin A1 has previously been detected in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and targeted overexpression of cyclin A1 in a transgenic mouse model initiated AML. The aim of this thesis was to further study the expression and regulation of cyclin A1 in hematopoietic cells. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Hematopoietic Serine Proteases from the Mast Cell Chymase and Tryptase Loci - a Functional and Evolutionary Analysis

    Författare :Jenny Reimer; Lars Hellman; Gunnar Nilsson; Sara Wernersson; Göran Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Cell and molecular biology; immune system; mast cell; basophil; mast cell chymase locus; multigene tryptase locus; serine protease; evolution; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are key effector cells in allergic and inflammatory diseases. However, their primary role is most likely in host defence against parasitic and bacterial infections. Mast cells are a particularly rich source of serine proteases. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    Författare :Shrikant S Kolan; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Mikael Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells. 5. 25. Hematopoiesis: Functional Insights by Cell Fate Conversion

    Författare :Martin Wahlestedt; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Blood cell formation, or hematopoiesis, is maintained by rare hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) residing in the bone marrow (BM). HSCs may self-renew (the process whereby HSCs replicate to produce new HSCs) to preserve their own numbers, as well as initiate a highly coordinated hierarchical differentiation process that results in the production of mature effector blood cells.
