    Sammanfattning : Mucosal inflammation and airway hyperreactivity are regulated by hundreds of different mediators. The recent discovery of gaseous mediators, produced and active within the airways, opens new possibilities for identification of therapeutic targets and ways to monitor airway inflammation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the role of the retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene in hematopoietic differentiation

    Författare :Gösta Bergh; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; antisense; leukemia; cell cycle; differentiation; hematopoiesis; p16; p53; tumor suppressor genes; RB; oligonucleotides; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to investigate the role of some tumor suppressor gene products (with emphasis on the retinoblastoma suppressor gene product) in the regulation of differentiation and proliferation in leukemic and normal hematopoietic cells. For this purpose, the expression of the tumor suppressor genes RB, p53 and p16 were artificially altered. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Tissue kallikrein: pathophysiological role in acute pancreatitis

    Författare :Mats Bläckberg; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acute pancreatitis; aprotinin; alpha-macroglobulin; alpha1-proteinase inhibitor; turn over; kinin B2 receptor; kallidin; bradykinin; Tissue kallikrein; kallistatin; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Tissue kallikrein releases pharmacollogically highly active kinins from kininogen. Many other enzymes may also release kinins. The aim of the study was to clarify the pathophysiological role of tissue kallikrein in acute pancreatitis. Two sensitive and specific radioimmunoassays for porcine and human tissue kallikrein were developed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Carbon dioxide, oxygen, and serum biomarkers after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest

    Författare :Florian Ebner; Helsingborg Kliniska Vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Carbon dioxide; oxygen; serum biomarkers; out-of-hospital cardiac arrest;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiac arrest is the aprupt loss of cardiac function and circulation, follwed by the loss of consciousness and breathing. Most patients succumb before admission to hospital and survivors frequently suffer from anoxic-ischemic brain injury. The number of patients who survive with good neurological outcome, is low. LÄS MER
