16. Fluorescence Guided Resection of Brain Tumors : Evaluation of a Hand-held Spectroscopic Probe
Sammanfattning : Malignant gliomas grow infiltrative in the brain and can therefore not be completely removed by neurosurgical means. However, for an optimized oncological treatment it has proven useful to resect as much as possible of tumor. The identification of the tumor in the marginal zone is difficult but crucial. LÄS MER
17. Perspective Correct Hand-held Augmented Reality for Improved Graphics and Interaction
Sammanfattning : With Augmented Reality, also termed AR, a view of the real world is augmented by superimposing computer-generated graphics, thereby enriching or enhancing the perception of the reality. Today, lots of applications benefit from AR in different areas, such as education, medicine, navigation, construction, gaming, and multiple other areas, using primarily head-mounted AR displays and AR on hand-held smart devices. 18. Intraoperative scintigraphic detection of abdominal endocrine tumors : Development and evaluation of hand held gamma sensitive probes for¹¹¹In
Sammanfattning : Surgery of endocrine tumors benefit from accurate pre and- intraoperative localization methods, and scintigraphy has become an important contribution in this respect. In the present thesis therequisites for scintigraphic localization of abdominal endocrine tumors and new detectors forintraoperative gammadetection are evaluated. LÄS MER
19. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber
Sammanfattning : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. 20. Redox models in chemistry : A depiction of the conceptions held by secondary school students of redox reactions
Sammanfattning : According to previous research, students show difficulties in learning redox reactions. By the historical development different redox models exist to explain redox reactions, the oxygen model, the hydrogen model, the electron model and the oxidation number model. LÄS MER
