1. Post-Detonation Afterburning of High Explosives
Sammanfattning : High performance of an explosive compound with respect to afterburning requires sufficient combustible properties of the explosive, and a careful determination of the most appropriate charge positioning to achieve the desired afterburning effect. Understanding the physical processes of post-detonation afterburning and how these are affected by the surroundings, e. LÄS MER
2. Long-Term Outcome of Fractures of the Thoracic and Lumbar Spine
Sammanfattning : From the radiographic archives at the Malmö University Hospital, Malmö, Sweden, we identified children below age 16 years (n=74) and adolescents between 16 to 18 years (n=40) with a clinically and radiographically diagnosed thoracic or lumbar vertebral fracture between 1950 to 1971 (with exception of two years of missing radiographs), and all adults above age 18 years (n=39) with a non-operatively treated thoracic or lumbar burst fracture during the years 1965 to 1973. Fractures were classified according to Denis. LÄS MER
3. Past demography and local adaptation in forest trees : Insights from natural populations and breeding programs of Norway spruce
Sammanfattning : Spatial changes in natural selection patterns can give rise to local adaptation and genetic differentiation between populations. Local adaptation for phenological traits is pronounced in many forest tree species. LÄS MER
4. Adaptation of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) to current and future climatic conditions
Sammanfattning : Climate change urges our understanding of the capacity of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) population to adapt and maintain, and even increase, their growth capacity at the level required to sustain a transition towards a biobased socioeconomic model. Climate change is already anticipated to result in an increase of temperature. LÄS MER
5. Turbulence Measurements in a Natural Convection Boundary Layer and a Swirling Jet
Sammanfattning : Two sets of experimental measurement were carried out on an axisymmetric swirling jet flow and a natural convection boundary layer. In the first experiment, the far field of an incompressible swirling jet, discharged into a quiescent ambient has been studied using laser Doppler anemometry. LÄS MER
