1. Synthesis and Evaluation of N,P-Chelating Ligands in Asymmetric Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Reactions : Ir-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation and Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric Intermolecular Heck Reaction
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes synthesis of new chiral N,P ligands and their evaluation in two types of asymmetric transition-metal catalyzed reactions. The first part of the thesis describes studies in iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation. LÄS MER
2. Novel Metal-Mediated Organic Transformations : Focusing on Microwave Acceleration and the Oxidative Heck Reaction
Sammanfattning : Transition metals have played an important role in synthetic organic chemistry for more than a century, and offer catalytic transformations that would have been impossible with classical chemistry. One of the most useful and versatile of the transition metals is palladium, which over the years has catalyzed many important carbon-carbon forming reactions. LÄS MER
3. Regiocontrol in the Heck-reaction and fast fluorous chemistry
Sammanfattning : The palladium-catalysed Heck-reaction has been utilised in organic synthesis, where the introduction of aryl groups at the internal, β-carbon of different allylic substrates has been achieved with high regioselectivity. The β-stabilising effect of silicon enhances the regiocontrol in the internal arylation of allyltrimethylsilane, while a coordination between palladium and nitrogen induces very high regioselectivities in the arylation of N,N-dialkylallylamines and the Boc-protected allylamine, producing β-arylated arylethylamines, which are of interest for applications in medicinal chemistry. 4. Fast Microwave-Enhanced Intra-, Pseudo-intra- and Intermolecular Heck Reactions
Sammanfattning : The Heck reaction is one of the most appreciated methods for carbon-carbon bond formation. Due to its mildness and ability to be tuned by additives, it often leaves few alternative competitive reactions. It has also proven easy to develop the reaction conditions in an environmentally benign direction. LÄS MER
5. Palladium-Catalysed Carbon–Carbon Coupling Reactions : Focusing on Microwave Heating, Low Catalyst Concentrations, Aqueous Conditions, Regioselectivity and Medicinal Chemistry Applications
Sammanfattning : It is widely accepted that palladium is one of the most useful catalysts in organic chemistry, and many palladium(0)-catalysed carbon–carbon bond-forming reactions have been developed over the years. In addition, the ever-growing need for more environmentally benign processes in the chemical industry has driven scientists to look for greener options while developing new methodologies for organic synthesis.
