11. ALPACA - A kinetic theory Monte Carlo event generator for heavy ion collisions
Sammanfattning : Recent measurements of collective effect-like signals in small collision systems has highlighted the need for new models to explain these phenomena. One good candidate for such a model is the AMY QCD effective kinetic theory, which is valid for systems in- and out-of-equilibrium. LÄS MER
12. Investigations on Emission Sources in Proton-Nucleus and Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions
Sammanfattning : Emission sources in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at intermediate energies have been studied. Pion excitation functions from the absolute threshold to 500 MeV have been measured with an ion beam of continuously varying energy with an energy resolution of 1 MeV. LÄS MER
13. Studies of Heavy Ion Induced Desorption in the Energy Range 5-100 MeV/u
Sammanfattning : During operation of heavy ion accelerators a significant pressure rise has been observed when the intensity of the high energy beam was increased. The cause for this pressure rise is ion induced desorption, which is the result when beam ions collide with residual gas molecules in the accelerator, whereby they undergo charge exchange. LÄS MER
14. Heavy-ion transport codes for radiotherapy and radioprotection in space
Sammanfattning : Simulation of the transport of heavy ions in matter is a field of nuclear science that has recently received attention in view of its importance for some relevant applications. Accelerated heavy ions can, for example, be used to treat cancers (heavy-ion radiotherapy) and show some superior qualities with respect to more conventional treatment systems, like photons (x-rays) or protons. 15. Developing the Angantyr model and extending colour reconnection for heavy-ion collisions in Pythia
Sammanfattning : This thesis is composed of four papers, the first two show the attempts made to extend the Pythia event generator to simulate heavy-ion collision events. The other two papers show methods to improve the hadronization mechanism in the Pythia model for a bettter agreement with the experimental data of pp and heavy-ion collisions. LÄS MER
