  1. 21. Buildings and district heating - contributions to development and assessments of efficient technology

    Författare :Per-Olof Johansson; Energihushållning; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District heating; hydronic space heating; natural circulation; lowered return temperature; primary energy; add-on-fan blower;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to contribute to improved performance of district heating systems by focusing on three items. Item 1: Study of three methods for improving the performance of sub-systems within buildings connected to the distribution network. The methods can be considered as more or less innovative. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Smart Energy Grids – Utilization of Space Heating Flexibility

    Författare :Johan Kensby; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; demand side management; heat pump; thermal energy storage; exhaust air heat pump; thermal storage in buildings; heat price control; smart; District heating; heat source shifting; demand response;

    Sammanfattning : Buildings are the largest energy-using sector in the world. Since the generation of energy is highly associated with greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to climate change, there is a large focus on reducing energy use in buildings. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Applicability of thermal energy storage in future district heating system - Design methodologies and performance evaluations

    Författare :Yichi Zhang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low-temperature district heating; demand-side management; low energy buildings; Thermal energy storage; district heating; variable renewable energy;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) enables efficient and economical utilization of energy resources to satisfy the heat and hot water demands in buildings and is, thereby, well-established in Northern European countries. To achieve the future renewable energy system, the current DH systems are proved to undergo transitions towards the future DH systems, with major characteristics including renewable-based heat sources, low temperature networks, lower heating demands and smart controls. 5. 25. With district heating toward a sustainable future : System studies of district heating and cooling that interact with power, transport and industrial sectors

    Författare :Danica Djuric Ilic; Louise Trygg; Björn Karlsson; Erik Dalhquist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to identify measures which should be taken in DH systems (DHSs) in order to contribute to the development of the DHSs and other energy systems (especially transport, industrial and power sectors) toward sustainability.Four business strategies were analysed: delivering excess heat from biofuel production industry to DHSs, conversion of industrial processes to DH, integration of biofuel production in DHSs and integration of DHdriven absorption cooling technology in DHSs.
