  1. 1. Heat shock proteins in exercised human skeletal muscle

    Författare :Mattias Folkesson; Fawzi Kadi; Britta Wåhlin-Larsson; Robert Kruse; Barbara Wessner; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endurance training; Resistance training; Muscle Fibre Type; Electrical Pulse Stimulation; Muscle Hypertrophy;

    Sammanfattning : Exercise is considered as an important stressor accompanied by concerted molecular and cellular changes leading to adaptations at the level of skeletal muscle size and function. An important protein family produced by cells in response to stressful conditions is the heat shock proteins (HSPs). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Data-Driven Techniques for Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer

    Författare :Jerol Soibam; Rebei Bel Fdhila; Konstantinos Kyprianidis; Ioanna Aslanidou; Ricardo Vinuesa Motilva; Mälardalens universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fluid mechanics; Heat Transfer; Machine Learning; Deep Learning; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : One of the main challenges in fluid mechanics and heat transfer is the need for detailed studies andfast computational speed to monitor and optimise a system. These fluid/heat flows comprise time-dependent velocity, multi-scale, pressure, and energy fluctuations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mechanistic Modeling of Wall-Fluid Thermal Interactions for Innovative Nuclear Systems

    Författare :Roman Thiele; Henryk Anglart; Xu Cheng; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GEN-IV reactors; Wall heat transfer; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Wall functions; Reactor design; Supercritical water; Liquid metal; Energy Technology; Energiteknik; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Next generation nuclear power plants (GEN-IV) will be capable of not only producing energy in a reliable, safe and sustainable way, but they will also be capable of reducing the amount of nuclear waste, which has been accumulated over the lifetime of current-generation nuclear power plants, through transmutation. Due to the use of new and different coolants, existing computational tools need to be tested, further developed and improved in order to thermal-hydraulically design these power plants. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The importance of psychological and physical stressors on diabetes-related immunity in a young population – an interdisciplinary approach

    Författare :Emma Carlsson; Maria Faresjö; Arne Gerdner; Anneli Frostell; Kristina Lejon; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; psychological stressors; physical stressors; cellular immune system; type 1 diabetes; young population;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The prevalence of immunological disorders such as type 1 diabetes (T1D) is increasingly common amongst children, adolescents and young adults. There is also an increase in psychosomatic symptoms (depression, insomnia, anxiety, headaches and fatigue etc. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A flexible and polarizable water model built on interpolated multipoles

    Författare :Jonatan Öström; Lars Gunnar Moody Pettersson; Gábor Csányi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multipole; Regression; Polarization; Machine Learning; Molecular Dynamics; Water; Theoretical Physics; teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Water has a rich phase diagram with regions of meta-stability, the prime examples being super-cooled and super-heated liquid water.Below ca 50 °C, water exhibits unusual and not yet fully explained anomalous thermodynamic properties upon cooling, for example a minimum in compressibility at 46 °C, a minimum in heat capacity at 35 °C, a density maximum at 4 °C, and a compressibility maximum at -44 °C in the supercooled liquid, at ambient pressure.
