  1. 16. Novel process integration opportunities in existing kraft pulp mills with low water consumtion

    Författare :Cecilia Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; excess heat; evaporation; pinch technology; pulp and paper; energy; system consequences; process integration;

    Sammanfattning : The economic opportunities for energy savings due to process integration of the evaporation plant have proven to be good in model mills with low water consumption. This is due to the fact that the temperature level of excess heat is higher compared with pulp mills with larger water consumption. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Process Integration in Model Kraft Pulp Mills. Technical, Economic and Environmental Implications

    Författare :Ulrika Wising; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pinch technology; system consequences; wastewater; energy; pulp and paper; excess heat; process integration; evaporation;

    Sammanfattning : The technical and economic conditions for reducing the energy consumption cost-efficiently and thereby releasing a surplus of biomass fuel in the pulp and paper industry are changing. For example, new environmental restrictions increase the need for closed water loops and other system modifications, which can lead to increased opportunities for energy savings. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Realise the Potential! : Cost Effective and Energy Efficient District Heating in European Urban Areas

    Författare :Urban Persson; Sven Werner; Louise Trygg; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; District heating; energy efficiency; distribution capital cost; heat density; plot ratio; excess heat recovery; sequential energy supply; heat utilisation; effective width;

    Sammanfattning : The Member States of EU27 need to accelerate the integration of energy efficient technology solutions to reach the 20% energy efficiency target set for 2020. At current pace, projections indicate that only half of expected primary energy reductions will be reached. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Evaluation of new active technology for low-energy houses

    Författare :Henrik Davidsson; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-quality heat; hybrid ventilation; heat recovery; active house; solar window; PV T hybrid; building integration; TRNSYS;

    Sammanfattning : Using energy at low-quality levels opens up new possibilities for low-energy houses. Low-quality energy can be heat at a temperature that is close to that of its surrounding, and can be used, for example, to pre-heat ventilation air or domestic hot water. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Hydrogen Production by Integration of Fluidized Bed Heat Exchangers in Steam Reforming

    Författare :Viktor Stenberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; oxygen carrier aided combustion; chemical-looping combustion; bed-to-tube heat transfer.; steam reforming; fluidized bed heat exchanger;

    Sammanfattning : The possibility to integrate fluidized beds as heat sources for steam reforming in industrial hydrogen production plants is examined in this work. The proposed processes include traditional catalytic steam reforming of natural gas (SMR), shift reactors and purification steps; the main difference is the reformer furnace. LÄS MER
