    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Heart valve surgery; magentic resonance imaging; echocardiography; operative mortality; survival; complications; quality of life; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : A more global analysis of the outcome of heart valve surgery is desirable to reflect the actual benefit for the patient. 3. 3. Waiting For Heart Surgery

    Författare :Bodil Ivarsson; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; orthopaedics; Surgery; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; waiting-time; support; postponement; patient; next of kin; information; experience; complications; cancellation; cardiac surgery; ortopedi; traumatologi; Kirurgi; traumatology;

    Sammanfattning : Patients waiting for cardiac surgery often consider the period from the decision for surgery to the time for the operation as long, heavy and dreary. Sammanfattning : Myocardial ischemia is a major cause of postoperative heart failure and adverse outcome in coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). Conventional treatment of postoperative heart failure with inotropic drugs may aggravate underlying ischemic injury. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Atrial fibrillation in cardiac surgery

    Författare :Anders Ahlsson; Anders Englund; Johan Brandt; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Atrial fibrillation; Inflammation; CABG surgery; Survival analysis; Follow-up studies; Ablation; Microwave; Transmurality; Atrial function; Tissue velocity echocardiography; Thoracic surgery; Thoraxkirurgi; Kirurgi; särskilt thoraxkirurgi; Surgery esp. Thoracic and Cardivascular Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia seen in clinical practice. In cardiac surgery, one-third of the patients experience episodes of AF during the first postoperative days (postoperative AF), and patients with preoperative AF (concomitant AF) can be offered ablation procedures in conjunction with surgery, in order to restore ordinary sinus rhythm (SR).
