Sammanfattning : Prevention of childhood obesity with its effects on children’s mental and physical health and well-being is an international public health priority and is suggested to be effective when started early. As Child Health Services lack an evidence-based model, there is the need for development of a low-intensive health promotion model that is feasible and cost-effective in preventing obesity in preschool children. 18. Food, body weight, and health among adolescents in the digital age: An explorative study from a health promotion perspective
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to explore adolescents’ relationship with food, body weight, and health communication in online digital media, as well as how adolescents experience participating in a health promotion intervention regarding food and physical activity habits. 19. Unmet need for mental healthcare among men Sweden: Gendered pathways to care
Sammanfattning : Aim: Depression and anxiety disorders have a lifetime prevalence of about 10% among men in high-income countries but many do not seek and receive the care that they need. The aim of this thesis was to explore gendered pathways to care focusing on unmet need for mental healthcare among men in Sweden at three steps: 1) not perceiving a need for mental healthcare despite symptoms indicating a clinical need for care, 2) refraining from seeking mental healthcare when perceiving a need for it, 3) perceiving care as insufficient when seeking it. 20. Study of conditional cash transfer programme Janani Suraksha Yojana for promotion of institutional births : Studies from selected provinces of India
Sammanfattning : Background: To accelerate the coverage of skilled birth attendance, in 2005, the Indian government initiated a conditional cash transfer (CCT) programme, Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) that provides cash to women upon delivering in health facilities. The attempt to increase the utilization of facilities through the JSY, given the health system’s fragile state, has raised concerns about the programme’s success at achieving its intended goal of reducing maternal mortality ratio (MMR).
