  1. 1. Prior informed consent and hazardous trade : Regulating trade in hazardous goods at the intersection of sovereignty, free trade and environmental protection

    Författare :David Langlet; Said Mahmoudi; Günther Handl; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation analyses international and to some extent domestic law pertaining to trade in hazardous substances. Hazardous trade regulation is found to promote or accommodate three objectives in particular: the strengthening of the ability of (importing) States to exercise control of transboundary flows of hazardous substances; the protection of human health and environment; and the avoidance of impediments to the free flow of goods. 2. 2. Hazardous substances in wastewater systems : a delicate issue for wastewater management

    Författare :Helena Palmquist; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Many substances derived from human activity end up in wastewater systems at some point. A large number of different substances - up to 30,000 - are present in wastewater. Some of them are valuable, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, but there are also hazardous substances such as heavy metals and anthropogenic organic substances. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Hazardous substances in wastewater management

    Författare :Helena Palmquist; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The extensive use of materials and substances in society causes diffuse source emissions that lead to uncontrolled spreading of hazardous substances, largely channelled via wastewater systems, to the surrounding nature. Complex mixtures of substances appear in wastewater as a result of use, wear, and corrosion of goods (e.g. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : At a time of increased concern about environmental issues in the building sector, it is essential to know the environmental performance of different building materials. Knowledge of the possible release of hazardous substances in building materials is scarce, and these aspects have often been neglected in environmental assessment methods. LÄS MER
