  1. 1. Stable iterated function systems

    Författare :Erland Gadde; Hans Wallin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hausdorff metric; iterated function system IFS ; attractor; invariant set; address; Hutchinson’s metric; we a k* -topology; IFS with probabilities; invariant measure; the Random Iteration Algorithm;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to generalize the growing theory of iterated function systems (IFSs). Earlier, hyperbolic IFSs with finitely many functions have been studied extensively. Also, hyperbolic IFSs with infinitely many functions have been studied. In this thesis, more general IFSs are studied. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Selected Topics in Continuum Percolation : Phase Transitions, Cover Times and Random Fractals

    Författare :Filipe Mussini; Erik I. Broman; Hermine Biermé; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Poisson point process; Percolation; Boolean model; Quasi-isometries; Cover times; Poisson cylinder process; Ellipsoid process; Phase transition; Random fractals; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of an introduction and three research papers. The subject is probability theory and in particular concerns the topics of percolation, cover times and random fractals.Paper I deals with the Poisson Boolean model in locally compact Polish metric spaces. 3. 3. Geometrical and percolative properties of spatially correlated models

    Författare :Olof Elias; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; continuum percolation; brownian excursions; brownian interlacements; poisson cylinder model; fractal percolation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers dealing with phase transitions in various models of continuum percolation. These models exhibit complicated dependencies and are generated by different Poisson processes. For each such process there is a parameter, known as the intensity, governing its behavior. LÄS MER
