  1. 1. Positioning Biopsy Needles in the Prostate Gland Using 3D Computer Modelling

    Författare :Hans Frimmel; Ewert Bengtsson; Björn Gudmundsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computerized Image Analysis; Datoriserad bildanalys;

    Sammanfattning : In the world of medicine, image diagnostics have, until recently, been based merely on two dimensional information sources. The understanding of three dimensional structures has been limited to creating mental images in the mind of the physician, to wax models and to autopsy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Le Miroir historial de Jean de Vignay : Édition critique du livre I (Prologue) et du livre 5 (Histoire d'Alexandre le Grand)

    Författare :Laurent Brun; Anders Bengtsson; Hans Aili; Tania Van Hemelryck; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Vincent de Beauvais; Speculum historiale; Jean de Vignay; Miroir historial; Latin; Middle French; translation; encyclopedia; chronicle; Alexander the Great; critical edition; French language; Franska språket; French; franska;

    Sammanfattning : In the mid-thirteenth century, the Dominican friar Vincent of Beauvais compiled the largest encyclopedia ever during the Middle Ages: the fourfold Speculum maius, whose Latin Speculum historiale became by far its most copied and widespread volume. During the 1320's and early 1330's, Jean de Vignay translated the whole Speculum historiale into French and dedicated the work to the French queen Joan of Burgundy, wife of Philip of Valois. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Regulation of fibroblast activity by keratinocytes, TGF-β and IL-1α : studies in two- and three dimensional in vitro models

    Författare :Anita Koskela von Sydow; Mikael Ivarsson; Torbjörn Bengtsson; Hans Törmä; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fibroblast; Keratinocyte; TGF-β; IL-1α; coculture; fibrosis CTGF CNN 2; dermal; organotypic culture;

    Sammanfattning : Dysregulated wound healing is commonly associated with excessive fibrosis. Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF/CCN2) is characteristically overexpressed in fibrotic diseases and stimulated by transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in dermal fibroblasts. Reepithelialisation and epidermal wound coverage counteract excessive scar formation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Being on the trail of ageing : Functional visual ability and risk of falling in an increasingly ageing population

    Författare :Jeanette Källstrand Eriksson; Cathrine Hildingh; Boel Bengtsson; Hans Thulesius; Nina Buer; Heather Waterman; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; elderly; experience; falls; independently living; perceived vision; performance-based vision; visual impairment; Vårdvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The elderly population is estimated to increase worldwide. One of the major health determinants identified in this population are injuries where one of the most prevalent causes are falls. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fast Methods for Vascular Segmentation Based on Approximate Skeleton Detection

    Författare :Kristína Lidayová; Hans Frimmel; Ewert Bengtsson; Örjan Smedby; Alejandro F. Frangi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; medical image analysis; automatic skeleton extraction; vascular segmentation; coverage segmentation; convolutional neural network classifier; CT angiography; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Modern medical imaging techniques have revolutionized health care over the last decades, providing clinicians with high-resolution 3D images of the inside of the patient's body without the need for invasive procedures. Detailed images of the vascular anatomy can be captured by angiography, providing a valuable source of information when deciding whether a vascular intervention is needed, for planning treatment, and for analyzing the success of therapy.
