   Sammanfattning : Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) is one of the most common and serious chronic disorders of childhood. Despite advances in the knowledge about the cause of IDDM during the last decades the etiology still remains incompletely understood but is probably due to a complex network of genetic, immunological and environmental factors.
