    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents Quantum Chemical calculations on the Photochemistry of Halogenated benzenes, Phytochromobilin, Ruthenium Polypyridyl complexes and 6-4 photoadducts in DNA. The work is focused on improving the understanding of a number of experimentally observed photochemical processes in these systems. LÄS MER

  2. 2. C-H Activation Reactions Mediated by Pd Based Heterogeneous Catalysts : Regioselective Formation of C-O and C-X Bonds

    Författare :Maitham Majeed; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :C-H Activation; N-heterocyclic carbenes; palladium; polymer supported Pd II ; undirected acetoxylation; directed halogenation; continuous flow; reduced graphene oxide supported Pd II ;

    Sammanfattning : New classes of N-heterocyclic carbene-palladium(II) complexes containing either a vinyl group in different positions or an anthracene tag in the backbone of the N-heterocycle were synthesized and fully characterized. The vinyl based complexes were copolymerized with divinylbenzene to fabricate robust polymer-supported NHC-Pd(II) systems, while the anthracene based complexes were π-stacked onto the surface of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) producing immobilized catalysts with interesting features. 3. 3. The kinetic mechanism of microsomal glutathione transferase 1 (MGST1)

    Författare :Richard Svensson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Glutathione; glutathione transferase; enzyme mechanism; pre-steady state kinetics; steady state kinetics; membrane protein; xenobiotic metabolism.;

    Sammanfattning : Microsomal glutathione transferase I (MGST1) is a homotrimeric membrane-bound enzyme involved in detoxication of numerous toxic electrophilic compounds, e.g. halogenated alkenes and arenes, alpha, beta-unsaturated hydrocarbons and peroxides. MGST1 is expressed in large amounts in most organs, which speaks for an important role for this enzyme. LÄS MER
