1. Neutron Halo Nuclei
Sammanfattning : In light nuclei close to the neutron drip-line a spatially extended neutron distribution, the neutron, halo occurs. This is due to the relatively small binding energy of the last neutrons which makes possible quantum mechanical tunnelling of the last neutron(s) far away from the nuclear core. LÄS MER
2. Effective Field Theory and One-proton Halo Nuclei
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we present formalism for treating one-proton halo nuclei in effective field theory. Halo nuclei are loosely bound systems consisting of a core plus valence nucleon(s). In so called Halo, or Cluster, effective field theory, the core of the halo nucleus is treated as a structureless, effective degree-of-freedom. LÄS MER
3. Exploring the Exotic Experimental Investigations far from Stability
Sammanfattning : The exploration of exotic nuclei is one of the most intriguing and fastest expanding fields in modern nuclear physics. In the extreme conditions of unsymmetric neutron-proton distributions and small binding energies many nuclear phenomena not encountered closer to stability have revealed themselves, often as a surprise to the nuclear physics community, the prime example being the development of halo structures as the binding energy diminishes. 4. Study of Halo Nuclei Breakup on Light Targets at Intermediate and High Energies
Sammanfattning : The study of exotic nuclei is one of the most important topics in modern nuclear physics. It allows general understanding of the structure and nature of light nuclear systems in the vicinity of the driplines. LÄS MER
5. On the Few-Body Character of Light Exotic Nuclei - Analytical Studies of Electromagnetic Processes Involving Loosely Bound Systems
Sammanfattning : The few-body character of loosely bound nuclei along the drip lines is studied within an analytical approach. It is argued that the clusterization of these systems leads to a modification of the normal phase space distribution of fragment momenta in breakup reactions. LÄS MER
