  1. 1. En perceptuell och akustisk studie av svenskans koronaler i ett dialektperspektiv

    Författare :Peder Livijn; Anders Eriksson; Olle Engstrand; Frank Kügler; []

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this dissertation is to contribute to a typology of the Swedish language as it was spoken in the entire Swedish speaking area around the year 2000. Specifically, the plan is to base this typology solely on different pronunciations of the four coronal consonants /t, d, n/ and /l/. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents four experimental studies, carried out at the Phonetic laboratory, Stockholm University, on infants’ ability to establish auditory-visual sound-meaning associations as a precursor of early word acquisition. Study I reports on the effect of linguistic variance on infants’ ability (3- to 20-months) to establish sound-meaning associations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The language learning infant: Effects of speech input, vocal output, and feedback

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Linguistics, Stockholm University

    Författare :Lisa Gustavsson; Francisco Lacerda; Roger Moore; [2009]

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the characteristics of the acoustic signal in speech, especially in speech directed to infants and in infant vocal development, to gain insight on essential aspects of speech processing, speech production and communicative interaction in early language acquisition. Three sets of experimental studies are presented in this thesis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Aerodynamic measurements of normal voice

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Linguistics, University of Stockholm

    Författare :Eva Holmberg; [1993]
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Normal voice; inverse filtering; glottal airflow waveform; subglottal air pressure; HUMANITIES and RELIGION Languages and linguistics Linguistic subjects Phonetics; HUMANIORA och RELIGIONSVETENSKAP Språkvetenskap Lingvistikämnen Fonetik; Phonetics; fonetik;

    Sammanfattning : Vocal fold vibration results from an alternating balance between subglottal air pressure that drives the vocal folds apart and muscular, elastic, and restoring forces that draw them together. The aim of the present thesis is to present quantitative data of normal vocal function using a noninvasive method. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Acoustic Properties as Predictors of Perceptual Responses a Study of Swedish Voiced Stops

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Linguistics, University of Stockholm

    Författare :Diana Krull; [1988]
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANITIES and RELIGION Languages and linguistics Linguistic subjects Phonetics; HUMANIORA och RELIGIONSVETENSKAP Språkvetenskap Lingvistikämnen Fonetik; Phonetics; fonetik;

    Sammanfattning : In speech recognition algorithms and certain theories of speech perception the interpretation of the signal is based on " distance scores " for comparisons of the signal with stored references; in these theories, perception is seen as a product of stimulus and experience. The aim of the present thesis is to evaluate such distance measures by investigating the perceptual confusions of the Swedish voiced stops [b,d,q,g] in systematically varied fragments of vowel-consonantvowel stimuli providing 25 vowel contexts for each consonant.
