1. A Method for Designing Resilient Digital Business Ecosystems
Sammanfattning : Organisations and companies are transforming their ways of conducting business by combining digitalisation and digital collaboration in digital business ecosystems (DBE) in order to be able to remain competitive in global markets. However, for companies and organisations to be able to take full advantage of such collaborative business constellations, several challenges, including the capture and coordination of information concerning individual DBE actors and various perspectives of a DBE and the design of resilience for a DBE, need to be addressed. 2. Paternal care and brood reduction in a pipefish
Sammanfattning : From an evolutionary and adaptive perspective, the occurrence and extent of parental care in animals (investment in offspring beyond the genetic contribution) is expected to depend on an optimal (fitness-maximizing) balance of its costs and benefits. Males of the sex-role reversed broad-nosed pipefish, Syngnathus typhle, which care for eggs and embryos and may perform brood reduction, are particularly interesting in this respect. LÄS MER
3. Footbridge Dynamics : Human-Structure Interaction
Sammanfattning : For aesthetic reasons and due to an increased demand for cost-effective and environmentally friendly civil engineering structures, there is a trend in designing light and slender structures. Consequently, many modern footbridges are susceptible to excessive vibrations caused by human-induced loads. LÄS MER
4. Human-structure interaction effect on the dynamic response of footbridges : An analytical and experimental study
Sammanfattning : Lightweight, slender and lightly damped footbridges are often susceptible to HumanInduced Loads (HILs) when pedestrian step frequencies coincide with the naturalfrequencies of the structure. For vertical vibrations, this can compromise the serviceabilitylimit state of the system. LÄS MER
5. Interaction mechanisms for a laser-induced metallic boiling front
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about fundamental interaction mechanisms of laser remote fusion cutting, RFC, which is based on the formation of a quasi-stationary laser-induced boiling front that causes drop ejection, preferably downwards. Laser cutting of metals, invented in 1967, has developed from a niche to a well established high quality cutting technique in the manufacturing industry. LÄS MER
