  1. 1. Surface Chemical Characteristics of Chromium-alloyed Steel Powder and the Role of Process Parameters during Sintering

    Författare :Dimitris Chasoglou; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbothermal reaction; sintering atmosphere; depth profiling; XPS AES; HR SEM EDX; water atomized powder; surface coverage; reduction oxidation; PM steels; sintering; Cr-Mn-spinel oxides; surface oxides;

    Sammanfattning : Powder Metallurgy (PM) is a cost efficient method suitable for sustainable production of structural parts that have strict dimensional tolerances and complex geometries. It has been a common practice to utilize Ni and Cu as alloying elements in PM steels, but the high and fluctuating prices of Ni and the concerns around it associated with health hazards as well as the difficulty in recycling Cu lead the PM industry to search for effective alternatives such as Cr and Mn. 3. 3. Transition metal ion-chelating ordered mesoporous carbons as noble metal-free fuel cell catalysts

    Författare :Johanna Dombrovskis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mesoporous materials; electrocatalysis; EXAFS spectroscopy; fuel cell; transition metals; carbon;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells offer promising possibilities for clean and efficient chemical to electrical energy conversion, though their high price makes them financially unappealing. This is to a large part due to the high cost of the noble metal catalyst used in fuel cells, which makes development of new, cheap and active catalyst materials necessary. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Alkali Induced Corrosion of 304L, The Influence of Potassium Salts and Water Vapour

    Författare :Jesper Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 304L; Alkali; Breakaway Corrosion; KCl; Oxidation; Deposit;

    Sammanfattning : This work investigates the influence of alkali salts on the oxidation of304-type (Fe18Cr10Ni) austenitic stainless steel in laboratory and fieldexposures. Stainless steel coupons were exposed isothermally inlaboratory furnaces at 400-600 °C in 5% O2 and 5% O2 + 40% H2O.Thermobalance exposures were also performed. LÄS MER
