  1. 21. Human papillomavirus infection and preterm delivery

    Författare :Johanna Wiik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CIN; HPV; LEEP; pPROM; PROM; PTD;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection causes cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Excisional treatment of CIN has been linked to increased risk of preterm delivery (PTD). The specific mechanism behind is however unclear. Also untreated CIN has been associated with an increased risk of PTD. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Prevention of Human Papillomavirus in a school-based setting

    Författare :Maria Grandahl; Tanja Tydén; Ragnar Westerling; Tryggve Nevéus; Marie Oscarsson; Ann Josefsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Human papillomavirus; HPV; vaccination; cervical cancer; school nurse; school health; immigrants; parents; adolescents; belief; attitude; decision; prevention; public health; randomised controlled trial; intervention; focus group interviews; vaccine hesitancy; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science; Caring Sciences; Vårdvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to examine beliefs about human papillomavirus (HPV) prevention, especially vaccination, among parents, immigrant women, adolescents and school nurses, and to promote primary prevention among adolescents.The methods used in the thesis were focus group interviews, individual interviews, a web-based questionnaire, and finally, a randomised controlled intervention study. 3. 23. Molecular mechanisms in cervical carcinogenesis : Studies of clonality, somatic genetic alterations and human papillomavirus variants in cervical pre-invasive and invasive cancer

    Författare :Zhongmin Guo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; cervical cancer; CIN; clonality; X-chromosome inactivation; LOH; HPV; chromosome 3p; chromosome 6; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer derives from a series of pre-invasive cervical neoplastic lesions termed CIN I-III (Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia) via typical multiple-step processes. In contrast to premalignant disorders in other organs, different degrees of CIN possess a distinct biological behaviour where a proportion spontaneously regress or persist, whereas some progress to invasive cancer. 4. 24. Molecular Pathogenesis of Cervical Carcinoma : Analysis of Clonality, HPV16 Sequence Variations and Loss of Heterozygosity

    Författare :Xinrong Hu; Björn Hagmar; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; cervical carcinoma; CIN; HPV; LOH; X-chromosome inactivation; clonality; molecular pathogenesis; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : A previous model of morphological pathogenesis assumed that cervical carcinoma is of monoclonal origin and progresses through multiple steps from normal epithelium via CINS into invasive carcinomas. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular mechanism of pathogenesis of cervical neoplasia. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Squamous cell carcinoma of the oral tongue : studies of biomarkers connected to human papillomavirus infection, epithelial to mesenchymal transition and locoregional metastatis

    Författare :Nicola Sgaramella; Karin Nylander; Karin Danielsson; Giuseppe Colella; Robin Fåhraeus; Lorenzo Lo Muzio; George Sekine; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; squamous cell carcinoma oral tongue; p16; HPV; podoplanin; E-cadherin; patologi; Pathology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Oral Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OTSCC) is the most frequent and aggressive carcinoma in the head and neck region. Its incidence has increased during the last decades, especially in young patients (≤40 years) mainly female. LÄS MER
