  1. 1. When Driving Automation Fails. Drivers' Experiences and Interactions

    Författare :Niklas Strand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HMI; simulator studies; driver behavior; Automated driving; automation failures;

    Sammanfattning : Drivers’ interactions with automation based on experiences from real driving, and results from driving simulators were under investigation in this thesis. The thesis had a mixed methods research approach and was exploratory. Special attention has been given to driver behavior on exposure to unexpected automation failures. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Driving Safe in the Future - HMI for Integrated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

    Författare :Anders Lindgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Driver Needs and Requirements; Advisory Warnings; Integrated Warnings; Driver Assistance; ADAS; Cross-cultural Differences; Ecological Interface Design;

    Sammanfattning : To be able to drive safely and efficiently, drivers need information from the surrounding traffic environment that make it possible to foresee early events that may negatively affect safety. A driver can in some cases perceive events that potentially have a negative impact on traffic safety, but in other cases not. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Simulator-Based Design : Methodology and vehicle display application

    Författare :Torbjörn Alm; Kjell Ohlsson; Martin Helander; Peter Hancock; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Simulator-Based Design SBD ; Human-in-the-loop simulators; Virtual prototyping; In-vehicle systems; Human-machine interaction HMI ; 3D situation displays; Adaptive interfaces; Work sciences and ergonomics; Arbetsvetenskap och ergonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Human-in-the-loop simulators have long been used in the research community as well as in industry. The aviation field has been the pioneers in the use of simulators for design purposes. In contrast, corresponding activities in the automotive area have been less widespread. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Analysis of interaction quality in human-machine systems

    Författare :Kaisa Nolimo Solman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Human-machine systems; warehouse truck; HMI human-interactive interaction ; methodology; holistic ergonomics view;

    Sammanfattning : A product with good interaction quality regarding the interplay with the user produces good performance, is experienced easy, pleasant and enjoyable to use, is preventing the user of committing errors, and has no adverse physical or mental impact on the user. The aim of the presented work was to propose a framework for interaction quality, and to develop and test a methodology for analysis of interactions between humans and machines. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Reduction of Vulnerable Road User accidents in urban intersections: Needs and challenges in designing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

    Författare :Azra Habibovic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vulnerable road user; warning; functional requirement; causation; intersection; accident prevention; advanced driver assistance system; infrastructure-car cooperation;

    Sammanfattning : Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be used to prevent accidents, or to reduce their severity. It is essential to determine what functional requirements such systems should fulfill to meet drivers’ support needs. An understanding of the underlying contributing factors and context in which the accidents occur is therefore crucial. LÄS MER
