  1. 1. Transcriptional Regulation of HIF2A/EPAS1 in Neuroblastoma

    Författare :Arash Hamidian; Avdelningen för translationell cancerforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; HIF-2α; enChIP; ESRRA; mTORC2; IGF-II; Hypoxia; Cancer; PI3K; Transcription; Neuroblastoma;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumor of the developing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and is the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in children before one year of age. Although survival curves have improved for these patients during the past decades, the conventional regimen of neuroblastoma treatment has clearly reached a plateau of efficiency with regard to increasing the survival rates of high-risk children. 2. 2. Hypoxia-induced phenotypic modulation of human neuroblastoma cells

    Författare :Linda Holmquist Mengelbier; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; reoxygenation; HIF-2a; HIF-1a; differentiation; hypoxia; neuroblastoma;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood tumour derived from cells of the sympathetic nervous system, which are arrested at low differentiation stages. Low differentiation stage and high tumour stage correlate to poor outcome. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Angiogenesis in human renal cell carcinoma : hypoxia, vascularity and prognosis

    Författare :Johanna Sandlund; Torgny Rasmuson; Börje Ljungberg; Kjell Grankvist; Anders Bergh; Elisabeth Kjellén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endoglin CD105; CD31; prognosis; CA IX; HIF-2α; renal cell carcinoma; tissue microarray; immunohistochemistry; real-time PCR; stage; grade; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Angiogenesis is recognised as a critical step in tumour progression. The angiogenic switch is activated by various trigger signals, such as hypoxia, low pH, and genetic mutations. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is often an aggressive tumour, and advanced disease has limited treatment options and bad prognosis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hypoxia and Stem Cells in Normal and Tumor Development

    Författare :Camilla Niklasson; Avdelningen för translationell cancerforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cancer; neuroblastoma; hypoxia; preclinical cancer models; ALDH; HIF-2α; PT2385;

    Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma is a childhood malignancy of the sympathetic nervous system and accounts for 15% of all cancer-related deaths in children. To understand the biology behind neuroblastoma, clarify timing of cellular events and expression profiles of proteins preceding neuroblastoma initiation, we need more relevant preclinical models. 5. 5. Studies on the biological functions of interaction between components in Wnt, TGF-β and HIF pathways for cancer progression

    Författare :Karthik Aripaka; Maréne Landström; Jonas von Hofsten; Carl-Henrik Heldin; Ruth Palmer; Lars-Gunnar Larsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TRAF6; HIF-1α; HIF-2α; HIF-3α; ALK5; Wnt3a; Hypoxic signalling; TGF-β; zebrafish; β-Catenin; Pathology; patologi; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease that involves aggressive changes in the genome and aberrant signals between the living cells. Signalling pathways such as TGF-β (Transforming growth factor-β), Wnt, EGF (epidermal growth factor) and HIF (Hypoxia-inducible factor) evolved to regulate growth and development in mammals. LÄS MER
