    Nyckelord :Abdominal fat; Basic tastes; Bitterness; BMI; Coronary heart disease; Dietary fat content; Eating context; Food; HDL-cholesterol; Health promotion; Intervention; Meal; Perception; Preference; PROP; Beska; BMI; Bukfetma; Fetthalt; Grundsmaker; HDL-kolesterol; Hjärtinfarkt; Hälsa; Intervention; Mat; Måltidsmiljö; Preferens; PROP; Sensitivitet; Culinary Arts and Meal Science; Måltidskunskap; Måltidskunskap; Culinary Arts and Meal Science;

    Sammanfattning : Det övergripande syftet var att undersöka mat- och måltidsrelaterade faktorer som bidragande orsak till övervikt och hjärt-kärlsjukdom.I en sensorisk studie jämfördes individer som insjuknat i hjärtinfarkt med en frisk kontroll-grupp med avseende på preferens för mat med hög respektive låg fetthalt, smakkänslighet för grundsmakerna (surt, beskt, salt, sött, umami och metalliskt) samt det beska ämnet 6-n-propylthiouracil (PROP). 2. 2. Genetic Determinants of Obesity in Relation to Diet, Weight Gain and Mortality

    Författare :Gull Rukh; Diabetes - kardiovaskulär sjukdom; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; genetic variants; copy number variants; genetic risk score; BMI; gene-diet interactions; annual weight change; substantial weight gain; sugar-sweetened beverages; mortality; Mendelian randomization;

    Sammanfattning : Obesity is one of the major health concerns that has reached epidemic proportions globally. It is generally believed to be a result of interactions between genetic and environmental factors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of cardiovascular disease risk in middle-aged men. The Cardiovascular Risk Factor Study in Southern Sweden, CRISS

    Författare :Karin Henriksson; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Population Study; Overweight; S-Cholesterol; Middle-aged men; Hypertension; Ethnicity; Epidemiology; Education; Cardiovascular disease; Body height; BMI; Alcohol; Blood pressure; Unemployment;

    Sammanfattning : The Cardiovascular Risk Factor Study in Southern Sweden, CRISS, was initiated to explore if men at increased risk at developing CVD risk factors can be identified already before age 40. Starting in 1990 two birth cohorts of men residing in Helsingborg, Sweden, were surveyed at age 37 (n=991, participation rate 68%), at age 40 (n=770) and age 43 (n=702), respectively. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interaction between dietary factors and genetic risk for lipoprotein traits and cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Sophie Hellstrand; Diabetes - kardiovaskulär sjukdom; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diet; polyunsaturated fatty acids; diet quality index; fatty acid desaturase; blood lipids; lipoproteins; polymorphisms; genetic risk score; gene-diet interaction; cohort; epidemiology; cardiovascular disease;

    Sammanfattning : In previous studies, a high quality diet has been associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared to a low diet quality, and specific “healthy” diet components, such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), have been hypothesized to reduce the risk of CVD. However, results from epidemiological studies have been conflicting. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Social Inequalities in Child Health : Type 1 Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular Risk Factors and the Role of Self-control

    Författare :Pär Andersson White; Tomas Faresjö; Johnny Ludvigsson; Anders Hjern; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Socioeconomic Status; Socioeconomic Disparities in Health; Type 1 Diabetes; Autoimmune Disease; Obesity; Cardiovascular Risk Factors; Self-control;

    Sammanfattning : The Swedish Commission on Health Inequality defined health inequality as systematic differences in health between groups in society with different social positions. All avoidable socioeconomic health inequalities are unfair, and as stated by WHO's Commission on the Social Determinants of Health, we have a moral obligation to try to reduce them. LÄS MER
