    Sammanfattning : Hypoxia-reoxygenation (H-R) injury is an important clinical phenomenon in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Endothelial injury is a critical step in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Therefore, endothelial and cardiomyocyte protection has been considered an effective step in prevention and treatment of CAD. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Studies on effects of antioxidants on arterial thrombosis and endothelial cell injury : With special reference to Tocopherols and ApoA1 Milano

    Sammanfattning : Coronary arterial endothelial injury and thrombosis are believed to be critical factors in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD). Experimental studies have provided evidence for au inverse relation between acute coronary events and antioxidant intake. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Role of GLP-1 receptor agonists in endothelial function

    Författare :Özlem Erdogdu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Type 2 diabetes;

    Sammanfattning : BACKGROUND: The leading cause of death for patients suffering from type 2 diabetes is macrovascular disease. Endothelial dysfunction is one of the earliest events identified in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Hence, there is a need for finding glucose-lowering agents that cause direct positive effects on vasculature in diabetic patients. LÄS MER
