  1. 21. Influence of Substrate Topography on Ink Distribution in Flexography

    Författare :Gustavo Gil Barros; Per-Åke Johansson; Gunnar Engström; Magnus Lestelius; Patrice J. Mangin; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; paperboard; topography; optical measurement; OptiTopo; flexography; flexo; print quality; printability; uncovered area; UCA; image analysis; frequency analysis; surface properties; paper properties; test equipment; measuring instrument; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The printability of paper in flexography is largely dependent on the topographical characteristics of the substrate. Topography imaging instruments make it possible to obtain three-dimensional scans of paper surfaces that can be further used to calculate valuable quality parameters. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Characterization of conjugated protease inhibitors

    Författare :Erika Billinger; Gunnar Johansson; Boris Turk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Serine protease inhibitors; conjugation; immobilization; leupeptin analogues; potato serine protease inhibitor; soluble carriers; inorganic carriers.; Biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The overall theme of this thesis is a step by step approach for the design and characterization of conjugated protease inhibitors. This involves both a new assay method for protease activity and protease inhibition (paper I), a study of the stoichiometry for protease inhibitor interaction (paper II), design of inhibitory peptides (paper IV) and the construction of inhibitor conjugates (paper III & IV). 3. 23. Aspects of Vitamin D : Prevalence of deficiency and impact on musculoskeletal parameters

    Författare :Anne Björk; Östen Ljunggren; Gunnar Johansson; Andreas Kindmark; Anna Spångeus; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Vitamin D; CYP2R1; Vitamin D receptor Gene; Polymorphisms; Muscle Strength; Endokrinologi och Diabetologi; Endocrinology and Diabetology;

    Sammanfattning : Vitamin D is central in calcium turnover, and adequate levels are important for skeletal health. It is not clear how large contributions from food and sunlight are in Swedish primary care patients, considering the low radiation of UVB in Sweden and fortification of some foods, and whether differences exist between patients of immigrant and Swedish origin. 4. 24. Varicose Veins : Aspects on Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment

    Författare :Lena Blomgren; David Bergqvist; Gunnar Johansson; Lars Norgren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Varicose veins; Venous insufficiency; Surgery; Duplex; Quality of life; Cost analysis; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Treatment for varicose veins (VV) is insufficiently evidence based and recurrence rates are high. The aim of this thesis was to study the long-term results after VV surgery, risk factors for recurrences and the effect of preoperative duplex scanning on recurrence rate, quality of life (QoL) and costs. 5. 25. Partitioning of Drugs and Lignin Precursor Models into Artificial Membranes

    Författare :Elisabet Boija; Gunnar Johansson; Per Lundahl; Christine Lagerquist Hägglund; Marja-Liisa Riekkola; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biochemistry; Bilayer disk; Capillary electrophoresis; Detergent; Drug; Electrostatic interaction; Hydrophobic interaction; Immobilized liposome chromatography; Lignin; Lignin precursor model; Liposome; Membrane model; Octanol water partitioning; Partitioning; Phospholipid; Phospholipid bilayer; Sterol; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis was to characterize membrane-solute interactions using artificial membranes in immobilized liposome chromatography or capillary electrophoresis. The partitioning of a solute into a cell membrane is an essential step in diffusion across the membrane. LÄS MER
