  1. 1. Sickness Absence in Sweden : Its relation to Work, Health and Social Insurance Factors

    Författare :Lars-Gunnar Engström; Staffan Janson; Tor Eriksen; Gunnel Hensing; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Sickness absence; return to work; work ability; work related factors; psycho-social work environment; health related factors; social insurance system factors; vocational rehabilitation; Public health science; Folkhälsovetenskap; Public Health Science; Folkhälsovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The high levels of sickness absence and disability pensioning experienced during the 1990's and 2000's have become both socially as well as financially burdensome for society. 2. 2. Fat contamination of pericardial suction blood in cardiac surgery : clinical and experimental studies in perspectives of transfusion logistics

    Författare :Micael Appelblad; Gunnar Engström; Krister Lindmark; Anders Jeppsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Surgery; blood transfusion; cardiopulmonary bypass; pericardial suction blood; fat contamination; lipid microemboli; density separation; surface adsorption; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: During cardiac surgery aided by cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) the autotransfusion of pericardial suction blood (PSB) is regarded mandatory to limit allogeneic blood exposure. PSB is however proposed as a source of lipid microemboli and to contribute to brain damage. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Influence of Substrate Topography on Ink Distribution in Flexography

    Författare :Gustavo Gil Barros; Per-Åke Johansson; Gunnar Engström; Magnus Lestelius; Patrice J. Mangin; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; paperboard; topography; optical measurement; OptiTopo; flexography; flexo; print quality; printability; uncovered area; UCA; image analysis; frequency analysis; surface properties; paper properties; test equipment; measuring instrument; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The printability of paper in flexography is largely dependent on the topographical characteristics of the substrate. Topography imaging instruments make it possible to obtain three-dimensional scans of paper surfaces that can be further used to calculate valuable quality parameters. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cerebrovascular accidents associated with aortic manipulation during cardiac surgery

    Författare :Patrik Boivie; Gunnar Engström; Magnus Hansson; Henrik Ahn; Umeå universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background: Despite the successful development in cardiac surgery, cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) remain a devastating complication. Aortic atherosclerosis has been identified as a major risk factor for CVA. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A systemic stigmatization of fat people

    Författare :Susanne Brandheim; Clary Krekula; Arja Tyrkkö; Lars-Gunnar Engström; Martin Börjeson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; obesity; fatness; systemic; stigmatization; medicalization; transformative; second-order reality; Socialt arbete; Social Work;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this work was to develop knowledge about and awareness of fatness stigmatization from a systemic perspective. The stigmatization of fat people was located as a social problem in a second-order reality in which human fatness is observed and responded to, in turn providing it with negative meaning. LÄS MER
