    Sammanfattning : The immense diversity and biomass of ericoid-, ectomycorrhizal, and saprotrophic fungal guilds in boreal forest soils make them vital components of conservation and ecosystem processes, and in particular, many ectomycorrhizal fungi are considered species of conservation concern. However, amalgamated information on the functions and relationships of soil fungi to perceived forest conservation values, and how inter and intra-guild interactions affect the accretion and decomposition of soil organic matter is lacking.     Sammanfattning : Chitin belongs to the most abundant biopolymers on earth where it has an important role as a structural element in crustaceans, insects, fungi and some phytoplankton. Missing evidence for long-term accumulation of chitin in nature implies fast turnover and as chitin is composed of aminosugar subunits it holds central roles in both carbon and nitrogen cycles.     Sammanfattning : This dissertation provides a descriptive account of the organization and activities of the carpenters' guild, as well as of the carpenter's trade, itself. Two problems are highlighted. A set of guild rules revised in 1454 was printed in 1604. It presupposed the existence of a normal, welldeveloped guild. LÄS MER
